There is a lot of confusion concerning Christ and the Law, yet He clearly lays out for us in Matthew 5:17-20 his relationship to the Law. Christ came not to abolish or to destroy the law, but rather to fulfill it.  In so doing, he met the righteous demands of God and made a way for reconciliation of sinners.
